Popular events on campus: Meliora Weekend combines Alumni Homecoming, Reunion and Family Weekend in a nationally acclaimed fall celebration of the values of an educated life. The Weekend, which attracts about 6, 000 alumni, parents, students, and community residents annually, presnets programs and performances by alumni, faculty, and of our nation's finest speakers and entertainers.
Wilson Day: A day of community service for all incoming University students. This event has been a freshman tradition at the University for 13 years. Freshmen, transfer students and graduate students spend the day working with faculty, staff, and Community Service Network volunteers.
Projects include neighborhood picnics, voter registrations, painting, landscaping, meal service, and various other serivce efforts. Yellowjacket Weekend: Join the UR community for a fun-filled day of music, food, carnival rides, vendors, games, and a spirit-raising kikcoff to the football season.
Convocation: Faculty, staff, and students of The College celebrtae the beginning of the new academic year. Boars Head Dinner: This annual medieval scrumptious feast features the University acappella groups and top University administrators adonred in period attire. Dandelion Day: This outdoor festival, held in late April, gives students an opportunity to appreciate the weather with music, fun, and games before final exams occur. WinterFest Weekend: This community weekend features a major comedian, collaborative programming that appeals to a wide range of students, casino night, and other events. .
